Thank you for visiting our website- we hope you’ll enjoy taking a tour of our site!

Firhouse Veterinary Clinic was established in 2008. We are a family run practice led by Nuala Moriarty. Our clinic is equipped with modern facilities and we are dedicated to looking after pets! Formally Old Bawn Veterinary Clinic, we made the move to Firhouse Shopping Centre in October 2013 having outgrown our previous premises. Located just a few minutes from the M50 our clinic is easily accessible from Rathfarnham, Tallaght, Terenure and all of south Dublin!

We have ample car parking facilities so your pet will be just steps from our door. We run by appointment to keep things running as smoothly as possible. We have plenty of vet appointments available throughout the week ensuring pets can be booked in as soon as possible. We know how busy life can be and we try to fit in with our owners schedule as much as possible.

Our friendly team are all pet owners and know just how worrying it can be when they are unwell. Rest assured we treat all of our patients with kindness and compassion – we know it can be frightening for them to visit the vet. We have taken measures to keep all pets as calm as possible such as separate cat and dog areas within the clinic. We were recently awarded hospital status by the Veterinary Council of Ireland. In sickness and in health your pet will get first class care and attention from our experienced staff.

Feel free to call in anytime, be it to collect pet food or worming treatment or just to get some good friendly advice – we’re happy to help!

Firhouse Veterinary Clinic is part of a larger group of three clinics, with Hermitage Vets based in Lucan, Co. Dublin and Carton Vets in Maynooth, Co. Kildare.

Protect your pet, protect your pocket.

Our Free Visits Plans are an exciting new concept that we have launched in our three clinics! Membership allows owners to pay a fixed monthly fee to avail of free and discounted veterinary care for their pet throughout the year!

The major advantage of the Free Visit Plan is that unlimited vet appointments are included! You can book your pet for a free check up as often as you like – you will only pay for medications or if additional treatments are required. In addition annual vaccinations and a health screening blood test are also included!

Some plans have additional benefits such as year round flea and worm prevention.

There are plans aimed at older dogs and cats which include an annual dental clean

Unlike insurance companies all dogs and cats can join, regardless of their age or if they have an existing health problem.

We’ve been bringing our three cats to Firhouse Veterinary Clinic for almost three years. We’ve always been very pleased with the level of care they’re received, from general check-ups to operations. It’s not just the professional expertise but the love of animals shown by everybody in the clinic that makes us feel sure our pets get the best attention possible.

Ann-Marie and Kevin

Our dog Digsy, a staffie, was very ill with pancreatitis a few weeks before Christmas. It was touch and go, he was hospitalised for nearly two weeks. Under the care of Nuala, Rebecca and the veterinary nurses his health improved drastically and he was well enough to come home for Christmas. The staff were extremely caring and kept us informed along the way, knowing how hard this was on us. Afterwards they advised a diet and insulin plan and he is back to his happy, crazy self!
